Witchy Lashes Skin
Smoother, firmer-looking skin. More even tone. Softer expression lines. The renewal you wanted from retinol, without the redness, peeling, or break-in.
Retinyl Renewal Oil is the vegan vitamin A built for skin that has been burned by retinol before. Three plant-based vitamin A pathways working quietly together: retinyl palmitate, rosehip, and sea buckthorn. Cushioned by cold-pressed oils chosen to respect the barrier, not strip it.
Renewal, the quiet way. Australian made. Use at night, always wear SPF the next morning.

What this oil actually does for your skin
Real renewal, delivered slowly and kindly. Three vitamin A pathways doing patient work over time.
|
|
Visibly softer expression lines Over twelve weeks of consistent use, the most common change women describe is expression lines that appear less defined. Not overnight, not dramatic. The slow, real change that lasts. |
|
|
Visibly improves uneven tone and texture Three vitamin A pathways supporting the look of more even skin tone. Rosehip and sea buckthorn carry an additional layer of evidence for the appearance of post-inflammatory marks and uneven pigmentation. |
|
|
Firmer-looking, smoother skin Vegan vitamin A supports gentle skin renewal over time. By week twelve, the cumulative effect of three botanical vitamin A pathways shows up as skin that looks firmer, smoother, and more resilient. |
|
|
No peeling, no flaking, no break-in period Retinyl palmitate is the gentlest form of vitamin A on the spectrum. It works through a slow conversion in your skin, which is exactly why it does not trigger the redness and peeling stronger retinoids cause. Gentle is the feature, not the consolation prize. |
Slots into the routine you already have
An evening layer that works with the routine you already use. Plus a few simple compatibility rules.
|
|
Already use a hydrating serum? Apply your serum on damp skin first, then press this oil in next. The serum cushions the vitamin A and your barrier stays comfortable through the renewal process. Our Hyaluronic Acid Serum is built for exactly this pairing. |
|
|
Already use a night moisturiser? Apply this oil first, then your moisturiser over the top to seal. Or skip the moisturiser entirely on renewal nights, this oil is rich enough on its own for most skin. |
|
|
Alternate with a calming oil on rest nights This is the skin-cycling routine that builds vitamin A tolerance gently. Use this oil on renewal nights, our Blue Tansy Calming Facial Oil on rest nights. Your skin renews on one and recovers on the other. |
Avoid the same night: AHAs, BHAs, and strong vitamin C serums. Use those on alternate evenings. Strong vitamin C is best in the morning.
|
|
Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Vitamin A derivatives, including retinyl palmitate, are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. For these stages, please use our Hyaluronic Acid Serum instead. It is pregnancy- and breastfeeding-safe and built for this season. |
|
|
Use only at night. Wear SPF 30+ every morning. Vitamin A makes your skin more sensitive to UV. Australian sun is unforgiving. Pair this oil with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, every single day. Non-negotiable. |
The ramp-up: no flaking, no peeling, no break-in
Most retinols ask you to suffer through two weeks of redness, peeling and flaking before they start working. We do not.
Even so, we recommend introducing this oil slowly. Your skin will tell you when it is ready for more. This is the routine that has worked best for the women we have built it for:
Week 1
Two nights a week.
Apply on two evenings, with at least two days between. Tuesday and Friday works well. Watch how your skin responds.
Week 2
Every other night.
Move to every second night, with our Blue Tansy Calming Facial Oil on the rest nights if you have it.
Week 3 and beyond
Nightly, if your skin is comfortable.
Most women settle long-term at every-other-night, alternating with Blue Tansy on rest nights. This is the skin-cycling routine that builds tolerance without wrecking the barrier.
Patch test on the inner forearm before first use. Always apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ the next morning.
What to expect over time
By week four
Brighter-looking skin. The look of more even tone. Skin that feels comfortable, not stripped.
By week eight
Visibly smoother texture. The look of scarring softening. Expression lines that appear less defined.
By week twelve
Firmer-looking skin. More even-looking tone. The cumulative effect of three gentle vitamin A pathways doing their slow, quiet work.
Who this oil is for
Made for women whose skin has been burned by retinol before.
|
|
If you are 45 or over and you want vitamin A in your routine but cannot tolerate prescription strength, this is for you. |
|
|
If you have tried retinol before and your skin went red, dry, or peeling and you gave up, this is for you. |
|
|
If you have sensitive, reactive or rosacea-prone skin and your dermatologist has told you stronger retinoids are not for you, this is for you. |
|
|
If you are coming through post-acne or post-Accutane recovery and your skin is finally ready for gentle renewal, this is for you. Always check with your dermatologist first. |
|
|
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please use our Hyaluronic Acid Serum instead. Vitamin A is not for this season. |
How to use
01
Cleanse and tone at the end of the day. Skin should be slightly damp, not soaking.
02
Apply our Hyaluronic Acid Serum first if you have it. The HA gives the retinyl something to layer over.
03
Press two to three drops of Retinyl Renewal Oil into your face, neck and décolletage. Keep the oil away from the immediate eye area and the lash line.
04
Follow with your usual night moisturiser if desired.
05
In the morning, broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Always.
Use only at night. Always patch test before first use. Always wear SPF the next morning.

The hero ingredients
|
|
Retinyl palmitate (Vegan Vitamin A) The gentlest, most cushioned form of vitamin A on the spectrum. Works slowly, kindly, and consistently. The active that delivers without overwhelming. |
|
|
Rosehip oil (organic) Naturally rich in vitamin A from beta-carotene. Long valued for its work on the look of scarring, uneven tone and post-inflammatory marks. A second vitamin A pathway, quietly delivered. |
|
|
Sea buckthorn berry extract (organic) Rich in omega-7 and beta-carotene. A third vitamin A pathway, plus barrier-supporting fatty acids your skin will absorb gratefully. |
|
|
Jojoba (organic) and avocado The cushioning carrier oils. Jojoba mimics your skin's natural sebum for effortless absorption. Avocado is barrier-supporting and beautifully suited to skin that has been stripped before. Together they make this oil tolerated where harsher formulas would sting. |
|
|
Frankincense Long valued in herbal tradition for supporting the look of resilient, comfortable skin. Used here at a careful concentration as part of the supporting cast. |
Free from
Parabens. Sulfates (SLS and SLES). Phthalates. Synthetic fragrance. Mineral oil. PEGs. Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. Artificial colour. Prescription retinoids.
A note on essential oils
The frankincense, rose geranium and ylang ylang in this formula are kept to a total of under 1% combined. This is intentionally low for a leave-on facial product. The supporting oils are part of the cast, not the headline.
A note on prescription retinoids
This is a cosmetic-grade vitamin A derivative, gentler than prescription tretinoin, designed for daily use without professional supervision. If you are under dermatology care for retinoid use, please check with your specialist before adding this oil to your routine.
A note on how it feels
This oil settles onto your skin in a soft cushion you can feel. Not heavy, not slick, just present, with a quiet floral scent that turns the evening application into a moment for yourself. Some women find it the most calming part of their routine. Others use it without thinking about it. Either way is right.
From Marcha, founder
This formula was developed with Caryna, a qualified Cosmetic Chemist with nearly two decades of experience in natural and botanical skincare formulation. The vitamin A in this bottle is the form she chose for skin that has been burned by stronger retinoids before. Gentle, cushioned, and barrier-respecting by design.
I started Witchy Lashes seven years ago. Over the years, thousands of women have written to me about retinols that left their skin red and peeling. They told me they had tried vitamin A and given up. They told me they were tired of skincare that promised renewal and delivered a stinging face. This is the oil I wanted for them.
Renewal does not have to be a punishment.

Frequently asked questions
Will this replace my current night moisturiser?
Not necessarily. This oil is rich enough to use on its own for most skin, but you can layer your existing moisturiser on top if you prefer extra cushion. It is designed to slot into your evening routine, not replace it.
Will this make my skin peel like retinol did?
For most women, no. Retinyl palmitate is the gentlest form of vitamin A available. It works slowly through a multi-step conversion in your skin, which is exactly why it does not trigger the peeling, redness and break-in phase that stronger retinoids do. We pair it with cushioning oils to support the barrier. We still recommend the ramp-up calendar to introduce it gradually, but most women never see flaking or peeling at all.
Is this safe for sensitive or rosacea-prone skin?
For most women, yes. This is the vitamin A formula we built specifically for skin that cannot tolerate stronger retinoids. The total essential oil content is under 1%, kept deliberately low for a leave-on product.
That said, reactive skin is still reactive skin. We always recommend a patch test on the inner forearm first. If you have a known sensitivity to any of the ingredients, speak with your dermatologist before trying this oil.
Can I use this if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Vitamin A derivatives, including retinyl palmitate, are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. For these stages, please use our Hyaluronic Acid Serum instead. It is pregnancy- and breastfeeding-safe and built for this season.
How is this different from prescription retinoids?
This is a cosmetic-grade vitamin A derivative, gentler than prescription tretinoin, designed for daily use without professional supervision. Prescription retinoids are stronger, work faster, and require a doctor's monitoring. Our retinyl palmitate works more slowly and patiently, which is the right choice for skin that has not tolerated stronger forms or for women who do not want to be on a prescription routine. Both have their place. If you are under dermatology care for retinoid use, please check with your specialist before adding this oil.
Do I really need to wear SPF the next morning?
Yes. Vitamin A in any form makes your skin more sensitive to UV. Australian sun is unforgiving, and the work this oil does for your skin at night can be undone by unprotected sun the next day. Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, every single morning. Non-negotiable. This applies on cloudy days too.
Will using this oil at night affect my lashes the next morning?
Not if you apply it correctly. Keep the oil away from the lash line itself and the immediate eye area when you apply at night. By morning, the oil has fully absorbed and there is nothing left on the surface to interfere with magnetic or adhesive lashes. The only women who run into trouble are those who apply oil right up to the lash line. That residue can stay near the bond site overnight and weaken the adhesive the next day.
How long will one bottle last?
About three months at every-other-night use, which is the long-term frequency most women settle at. The 30 ml clear glass bottle has a glass pipette dropper so you use exactly two to three drops per application.
Why does it have a six-month period after opening?
This is a quality marker, not a flaw. Retinyl palmitate is the most stable form of vitamin A. It does not oxidise the way retinol does, which is why our bottle is good for six months after opening, rather than the three months some retinaldehyde products require. The vitamin A in your bottle at month six is the same potent vitamin A on the day it was bottled.
What is your returns policy?
If this oil is not right for your skin, return it within 30 days for a full refund. Even if you have opened it. We would rather you tell us than feel stuck with something that does not suit you.
